Job Description: We are looking for a Hygiene Manager to work at the Silver Spoon site at Bury St Edmunds.

The Hygiene Manager is responsible for ensuring that excellent standards of hygiene are maintained at the BPC site at all times through the training and development of our Client's Hygiene team which will operate across shifts. The Hygiene Manager must ensure that all areas of the factory are considered when developing and implementing relevant cleaning schedules which must be based upon suitable risk assessment. In addition, the Hygiene Manager must give due consideration to suitable cleaning methods and ensure that the relevant cleaning materials, utensils and chemicals are utilised. The Hygiene Manager must develop Cleaning Instruction Cards, deliver relevant training and ensure that suitable records are kept, audited and trended.

Principal Accountabilities:

*To operate, co-ordinate the Domestic and Industrial Cleaning duties to the (Service level Agreement) SLA standard.
*Supervise and organise staff to deliver maximum safety to Silver Spoon and our client.
*Day to day responsibility for the cleaning standards within the (SLA).
*Design and implement a suitable hygiene auditing schedule so that all cleaning activities undertaken at the site are effectively audited and corrective/preventative actions suggested, agreed and implemented.
*Design, publish and implement documented hygiene schedules which detail frequency of clean.
*Design, publish and implement documented training procedures for methodology of cleaning for each individual task.
*Maintain documented cleaning records which show detail of Operatives cleaning, areas cleaned, methods and chemicals used and date of cleaning.
*Where scheduled cleaning does not take place according to defined frequencies, (eg Production machinery not released for Cleaning due to Production requirements) ensure that this is risk assessed and escalated to the relevant Managers.
*Manage the Hygiene team effectively, submit timesheets, thus ensuring that scheduled cleaning takes place at the defined frequency giving consideration to holiday, sickness and overtime cover.
*Assign work, monitor standards and conduct regular quality audits in accordance with Facilities Business Organiser, ISO 9001:2008, BRC and retailer standards
*Encourage and support cleaning operatives to follow safe working procedures at all times. Liaise with Silver Spoon and Safety Advisors as required ensuring the reporting of all incidents and near misses.
*Carry out site inductions where necessary for new employees and agency workers.
*Deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks. Attend safety meetings as required and carry out any resulting actions.
*Contribute pro actively at daily production meetings in order to deliver a consistently improving cleaning standard within the plant.
*Ensure suitable stock levels of chemicals and miscellaneous items (paper towels, soap, sanitiser etc) are maintained.
*Identify training requirements, undertake training where appropriate or liaise with line manager to successful completion.
*Effectively develop and train a team of Hygiene operatives in order to ensure they have the relevant skills to undertake effective cleaning according to Company procedures and published documents.
*Conduct appraisals, set objectives and, following counselling, report staffing problems to line manager
*Identify possible development opportunities with existing customer and ensure that EMCOR is given opportunities to pursue additional services.
*Ensure that all materials and chemicals used are suitable for the task and that accompanying safety data obtained and assessed. (E.G. COSHH, MSDS )
*Ensure suitable materials, utensils and equipment are sourced, used, kept in a food-safe and hygienic condition.
*Ensure suitable stock levels are maintained and replenished where necessary.
*Review and revise risk assessments and method statements
*Hygiene audit scores should be trended, published and reported upon in Management meetings in order to promote continuous improvement
*Manage work wear laundry service on a day to day basis.
*Control of PPE and work wear.
*Ensure that procedures are followed at all times.
*Deputise for Facilities Manager as necessary.
