Job Description: We are looking for a Technical Support Officer/Logistics Support to work at AWE in Aldermaston.
Accountable to the Technical Support Team Leader on behalf of Head of Engineering for the administration and control of the stores, receipt and dispatch area, and where needs demand, support maintenance tasks directly by applying technical skills and supervisory techniques. Ensure that objectives are achieved in an effective and safe manner.
Key Accountabilities:
*Ensure the security of the stores area through control of access & egress of personnel, plant, stores and equipment.
*Ensure that the documentation package for the execution of the task is accepted as suitable and sufficient and approved for use by the facility WCC, including safety and environmental assessments.
*Ensure that all necessary equipment is available and in a serviceable state with current certification where appropriate
Key Responsibilities:
*To provide technical assistance in the identification and procurement of engineering spares
*To liaise fully with Infrastructure Asset Management to ensure the efficient operation of the sections procurement requirements
*Receive, record and confirm the inventory of stores items against receipts, invoices, check sheets or supply forms
*Inform demanders of stores availability and administer delivery and collection procedures
*Act as section focal point for COMAH issues, including maintaining the COMAH database
*Manage COSHH within the section, including generation of assessments, control and storage
*Perform duties as Local Calibration Representative for section
*To liaise with project and planning staff, facility engineering, maintenance managers and facility work control in the planning of the maintenance work load
*Agree maintenance programmes and schedules with facility management, continually review and develop the planned maintenance programme.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
*Engineering Apprenticeship
*City & Guilds (as appropriate), or NVQ Level 3
Knowledge:
*Knowledge of AWE safety management arrangements and systems
*Workplace safety
*NII licence conditions
*Legislative compliance & safety
Experience:
*Experience of operational maintenance service delivery
*Experience in the use of AMS for operational purposes
*Working knowledge of AWE organisation, relationships and management process
Skills:
*Good interpersonal and communication skills
*Good oral and written skills
*Team working
Behaviours:
*Able to maintain effective working under a variety of pressures and circumstances
*Able to respond successfully to changing demands and conditions
*Positive pro-active outlook
Special Requirements:
*Ideally DV clearance
*Medically fit
