Job Description: Main duties:
1.To effectively engineer, plan, manage, co-ordinate and fully control all aspects of direct and indirect labour, materials and plant on a project whilst ensuring financial and programme targets are met.
2.To ensure all M&E Installations comply with appropriate Design, Quality and Installation standards within budgeted costs and other financial constraints.
3.To promote & ensure all operational activities of the project comply with the Commercial, Contractual, QA, Health & Safety and legal requirements.
4.Develop and maintain a positive and pro-active relationship with clients and other departments and attend meetings both on and off site as necessary to ensure effective working relationships.
5.To effectively manage, motivate and develop staff and operatives to ensure an appropriate skill base exists for the project, and to ensure projects are completed to specification, time and budget whilst maintaining good employee relations.
6.Manage a system of cost and work control in association with other departments i.e. QS, including labour, materials, overhead expenses on the project controlled.
7.Liaise and work with other departments including Estimating, Design, Commercial, Construction Services, CAD, Procurement, Health, Safety & Environment etc to ensure projects are successfully managed and completed on programme and within budget.
8.Ensure compliance with the conditions of contract respective to the project with special attention given to the recording of all delays under the terms of the contract and maintaining all necessary records.
9.Provide complete information to the Quantity Surveying Team to enable full receiving of measure works, valuations, materials on site and delay/disruption claims.
10.Ensure timely completion of all necessary As Fitted Drawings and O&M manuals and their submission.
11.On project completion, oversee the sorting of essential documentation to be retained and archived.
