Job Description: Main duties:
1.To effectively engineer, plan and fully control all aspects of direct and indirect labour, materials and plant to all projects ensuring satisfactory financial and client outcomes.
2.Manager a system of cost and control in association with Quantity Surveyors covering all areas including labour, materials, overhead expenses on all projects controlled.
3.Effective liaison and working with other departments including, estimating, design, estimating, surveying, contracts, buying, Health & Safety etc. to ensure projects are successfully obtained managed and completed to target.
4.To effectively motivate, manage and control, all staff working under their control including assistant engineers, apprentices, contract staff etc. to ensure project completed to specification whilst ensuring good employee relations.
5.Ensure compliance with the conditions of the contract respective to the projects with special attention given to recording of all delays under the term of the contract and maintaining all necessary records.
6.Promote and ensure compliance with the company Health & Safety and Quality Assurance policy and practices.
7.To provide complete information to the Quantity Surveying team to enable full recovery of measured works, valuations, materials on site and delay/disruption claims.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
In depth knowledge of Building Services gained by obtaining an ONC/HNC in a related discipline i.e. Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
At least 6 years experience in the M & E Industry including:
*2 Years operations experience of effectively engineering, managing and controlling all aspects of labour, materials and plant on projects.
*Have previous supervisory experience of both staff and hourly paid operatives.
*Liaising with other departments including Buying, Design, Health & Safety.
*Experience and knowledge of Contract Compliance and Variations to Contract
