Job Description: A Mechanical & Electrical Planner is required to work for one of the worlds market leaders in the Building Services (Mechanical & Electrical installation) industry.
The Planner will be
Main Purpose of the Job:
To provide effective guidance, planning, monitoring and reporting of progress on contracts in and around the Greater Manchester area.
Reporting to: Regional Planning Manager
Main Duties:
Working alongside Estimators, prepare strategic plans for potential jobs at tender stage to achieve increased accuracy of estimation (labour demand profile, productivity, cash flow, etc) and to reinforce tender presentation:
In co-operation with Project Engineers, prepare strategic and tactical plans (in appropriate format) for all contracts on receipt of order, including liaison with clients, builders, sub-contractors and other parties - including the co-ordination of planning aspects of the different trades on multi-service contracts.
Periodic review of the progress of current contracts according to criteria defined by the Departmental Manager.
Assist the Managing Surveyor with enquiries into budgeting, cash flow, interim applications, claims and other financial aspect of work in hand.
When assigned to large site-administered contracts, undertake all aspects of planning and progressing, including liaison with the main contractor and sub-contractors plus any related functions agreed with the Project Manager e.g. method study or incentive payment administration.
Noting the planning guidelines, reconciling or reporting any significant inability to observe these.
PERSON SPECIFICIATION
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of the Building Services sector
Experience of computerised planning systems
Good analytical skills.
Good Interpersonal skills, with the ability to put forward point of view assertively, if necessary.
